Europe is home to only 7 percent of the world's population, but it is responsible for 20 percent. global investment in research and development. In addition, it publishes one-third of all high-profile scientific publications and is dominant in the world in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, mechanical engineering and fashion. Research and innovation are essential to tackling the coronavirus pandemic. During the lecture, we will consider why cities need innovation? and why are they so important? The speaker will introduce the Horizon Europe Program – the largest research and innovation funding program, with a budget of EUR 100 billion until 2027.

The event is in line with the assumptions of the New European Bauhaus initiative.
