GDD and Against Gravity cordially invite you to the online film screenings of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival repertoire. Documentary film screenings are a response to the slogan of this year's GDD "Solidarity" and will attempt to look at the future in the age of new reality.

(...) but Beautiful (2019), directed by Erwin Wagenhofer, Austria, Germany, 116 min

The film opens with Michelangelo's maxim: "The worst thing is when we set our goals too low and achieve success." The desire to change their lives gave the characters in Erwin Wagenhofer's film ("Feed the World," "Let's Earn Even More," "Alphabet") the strength to pursue happiness. They certainly didn't set the bar too low for themselves. They even seem to have set themselves unattainable goals. And yet, their strong will and the realization that achieving these goals would allow them to live a better, fuller life gave them extraordinary strength and tenacity in their pursuit of happiness.

We meet a Swiss couple who decided to restore their depleted land and establish a permaculture farm. To achieve their goal, they lived for two years with their children in a tent. In India, an engineer teaches illiterate women how to build and install solar panels that will permanently change the lives of both them and the villages they live in. And in Austria we meet a forester with a vocation, who speaks with love and knowledge about the forest and the proper use of its potential.

Film in multiple languages with Polish subtitles. Available only in Poland.

Each day a code will be published that will entitle you to a free viewing of the film between 19:00 and 00:00.
