Karol Szafraniec

Film and culture scholar, film culture organiser, graduated from the Institute of Audiovisual Arts at the Jagiellonian Uni-versity. Works with the MCK Sokół Center for Culture in Nowy Sącz and the Masovian Institute for Culture in Warsaw.

Leader of the Film Discussion Club “KOT”, where he is a frequent lecturer. He holds classes about film education – both original ones and also as a part of various domestic events. Co-creator of the Adolescent Film Academy in Nowy Sącze, which was nominated for the Polish Film Institute award in 2017. Two-time winner of the National Film Lecture Competition in 2011 (main award and audience award). Cura-tor and originator of interdisciplinary cultural events, such as: “Between image and screen”, “Antonisz. Interpretations” (at BWA SOKÓŁ gallery), or the Visual Arts Festival “Relations” at the Masovian Institute of Culture. Aside from film, he is interested in music, visual arts, popular culture, and the ethe-real areas between them. He also hosts a podcast called "Audio/Wizualny".
