Cezary Obracht-Prondzyński

Cezary Obracht-Prondzyński

Prof. dr hab, works at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Gdańsk (head of the Department of Social Anthropology and the Pomeranian Center for Research on Culture).

He is a sociologist, anthropologist and historian. His research interests include: the issues of Kashubia and Pomerania, cultural participation, national and ethnic minorities, regional policy and self-government. He is author and co-author of over 30 books, editor of over 20, author of several hundred scientific, popular science and journalistic articles, corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, chairman of the Sociology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2020-2023), President of the Kashubian Institute, Laureate of the Jan Heweliusz Scientific Award of the City of Gdańsk for 2017 in the field of humanities and social sciences.
